Appeal for more victims of theft or fraud at Orillia hospital: OPP

Police received several complaints of theft and fraud from patients and staff within the hospital.

Victims of theft and fraud at the Orillia hospital has led to charges.

But police are concerned there may be more victims.

The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were summoned to Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) after a series of fraudulent events took place.

In the interim, the OPP has charged a 34-year-old Burlington woman with disobeying a court order and making a false statement in writing.

Anyone who was a patient or staff member at Soldiers’ Memorial between April 2025 and March 2026 is asked to review their credit card statements and report any suspected theft or fraudulent activity to the OPP at 1‑888‑310‑1122.
