Three people have been arrested in relation to a drug trafficking investigation in Hants County, N.S. RCMP conducted a targeted traffic stop on two vehicles on Highway 14 near the junction with Highway 1 in Windsor on Monday. They arrested the drivers of each vehicle, a Chevrolet Camaro and a Honda Civic, and seized both cars. There were no other occupants in the vehicles. RCMP then executed search warrants at two homes in Windsor and St. Croix, with support from police dog services and local officers. “During the searches, officers seized quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, unstamped tobacco, cash, a firearm, and a replica firearm,” reads a news release from RCMP on Friday. Police arrested a third person at one of the residences. Marshall Garwin Burgess, 34, of Newport Station, is charged with five offences, including: Burgess had a first court appearance at Kentville provincial court on Tuesday and remains in custody pending future court appearances. The other two people arrested were released pending future appearances. Police say they will face charges associated with firearms and drug trafficking.
