Police temporarily closed 83 Street from 86 Avenue to the entrance of the Bonnie Doon Leisure Centre early Wednesday morning because of a motorcycle crash. Police found the bike and biker near the entrance to Dermott District Park sometime in the 5 o’clock hour. He was hospitalized after the crash only for precautionary reasons. Around 5 a.m., patrol officers had seen the motorcyclist headed south on Wayne Gretzky Drive near 112 Avenue going an estimated 170 km/h. Police said charges against him are pending. The road closure lasted about three hours, until around 9:30 a.m.
