Winnipeg police are investigating after a man was believed to be stabbed by a group of youths at The Forks grounds late Monday night. Police said the victim, a man in his 40s, was walking through a park in the area when he was confronted by a group of unknown youths and stabbed. The group then fled the scene. Officers and the K9 Unit responded to the scene just before 11 p.m., police said in a news release. The man was taken to hospital in unstable condition. His condition has since been upgraded to stable, police said. Cst. Dani McKinnon, a spokesperson for the Winnipeg Police Service, said the investigation is in the early stages by the Major Crimes Unit. She added that police have no further information to share at this time, as more interviews and canvassing still need to be conducted.
