After burning for two weeks, the Mooseland Road wildfire in Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore is now under control, according to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). In a social media post on Wednesday evening, DNR said this development is a “key milestone.” “Under control means the fire is responding well to suppression efforts,” the post reads. “It is not expected to grow, but it is still not extinguished.” The wildfire, which was first detected in the Jacket Lake area around 7 p.m. on July 15, grew to roughly 1,447 hectares before being held.
