Man, woman face trafficking charges after New Glasgow police seize cocaine, meth

Two people are facing charges after police say they seized drugs from a home in New Glasgow, N.S., early Thursday morning as part of an ongoing investigation.

New Glasgow Regional Police executed a search warrant at the home in the 400 block of Pleasant Street around 6:30 a.m.

Police say they seized “a large quantity of cocaine,” methamphetamine, cash, weigh scales and bags, and cellphones.

They arrested a man and a woman at the scene.

Jessica Martell, 39, of New Glasgow is facing the following charges:

• trafficking
• possession for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of a controlled substance
• failure to comply with undertaking

Tyler Ryan, 33, of Port Hawkesbury is facing the following charges:

• possession for the purpose of trafficking
• failure to comply with probation
• failure to comply with release Order

Police say Martell and Ryan were held in custody and were due to appear in provincial court on Thursday.
