Scattered showers have been moving through central and north-central Alberta this morning. The precipitation has been fairly hit-and-miss in the Edmonton region, so not everyone is getting wet. But, we’ll continue to see occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm throughout the morning. Skies should start to clear by midday and we’ll see some sunshine this afternoon. The primary risk zone for severe thunderstorms today will be across southern Alberta this afternoon/evening. Like yesterday, some of the storms will bring large hail, downpours and the possibility of a tornado. All of those severe storms should be well to the south of the Edmonton region. Most of the daytime hours Friday should be quite nice - some sun and temperatures in the low 20s. BUT...we do have a chance of showers early in the morning (pre-8am) and then another risk in the evening (6-10pm’ish). Looking ahead to the weekend - the pattern remains unsettled and there could be some scattered showers or thunderstorms in the Edmonton region either or both days.
