Nova Scotia’s Need a Family Practice Registry decreased by 2,106 people last month. As of July 1, Nova Scotia Health says there are 58,473 Nova Scotians on the family doctor waitlist, down from 60,579 reported on June 1. The percentage of the population on the registry is 5.3 per cent, down from 8.3 per cent over the past year. The Western Zone of the province, which includes Annapolis, Kings, Queens, Lunenburg and Yarmouth areas, continues to have the largest amount of people on the waitlist with 19,275.
