Moncton man, 27, dies in crash near Plaster Rock, N.B.

A 27-year-old man from Moncton has died after a single-vehicle crash near Plaster Rock, N.B., on Sunday.

Perth-Andover RCMP officers responded to a 911 crash notification on Route 108 around 3:28 p.m., according to a social media post from RCMP.

Police say the driver died at the scene from his injuries.

“The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver of the vehicle lost control, hit a tree and caught fire,” says RCMP. “A passerby was able to safely extinguish the fire before police arrived on scene.”

Members of the Plaster Rock Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office also attended the scene.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist is helping with the ongoing investigation.
