What’s open and closed in Manitoba on Thanksgiving

Multiple businesses and services will be closed Thanksgiving Monday or operating on reduced hours.

Thanksgiving is Monday, Oct. 13, and with that, many businesses, attractions and services in Winnipeg will either be closed or operating on reduced hours.

Here is a list of what is open and closed in Manitoba for Thanksgiving.

City Services

All civic offices in Winnipeg, including City Hall, will be closed Monday for Thanksgiving.

City transit will run on a Sunday schedule.

All Winnipeg libraries will be closed Monday.

The pool at the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be open from 2 – 6 p.m. Margaret Grant Pool will be open from 1-5 p.m. and the Pan Am Pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All other indoor pools will be closed.

All city-run fitness centres will be closed, except for the Pan Am Pool and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex.

Garbage pickup will continue for those who have Monday as their regular collection day.

The Brady Road Landfill will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Malls

C.F. Polo Park, Outlet Collection Winnipeg, Garden City Shopping Centre, St. Vital Centre, and Kildonan Place will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Grant Park Shopping Centre will be open from noon to 5 p.m.

Liquor Marts

All Liquor Marts in Winnipeg and Brandon are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the exception of the location at True North Square, which will be closed.

Attractions

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights will be closed on Thanksgiving.

WAG-Qamajuq is closed on Thanksgiving.

The Manitoba Museum is closed on Monday.

Assiniboine Park Zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with gates closing at 3:30 p.m.
