Sherbrook Street Festival draws people from across Winnipeg

The 10th annual Sherbrook Street Festival is celebrating this year with the installation of a new bike lane.

Sherbrook Street closed for a day of family fun and music on Saturday.

The Sherbrook Street Festival marked its 12th anniversary this year.

This year’s festival includes martial arts workshops and demonstrations. A family stage features performances from Rastamils, Last Ditch on the Left, and Jimmy and Donny.

The main stage will feature performances from a dozen bands and artists, including headliner Zrada, with a beer garden close to the stage.

Synonym Art Consultation will host a live mural creation on the newly-opened Khao House at 126 Sherbrook St.

The festival also features craft-making, bouncy castles, and face painting.

"We bridge the neighbourhoods adjacent to West Broadway, like Wolseley and the West End, but each year we also see families coming from across Winnipeg to take part in what's become the largest event in the community," said festival organizer, Michelle Slota.
