Normal operations have resumed at the Winnipeg Police headquarters following a weekend flooding incident.

Operations at the Winnipeg Police Service’s downtown headquarters are back to normal following a weekend flooding incident.

The police service confirmed in a news release Wednesday that all units impacted by the flooding are back to work at the headquarters and are working at normal capacity. In-person reporting has also reopened at normal operating hours.

The police station reported a flooding incident on Feb. 14. It’s alleged two people opened several emergency water supply valves in the upper stairwells of the tower on Graham Avenue near police headquarters, causing flooding in parts of the station.

Police said flood damage spanned from the fourth floor to the basement. Standing water has been removed and the electrical system has been identified as safe.

A 51-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman are both facing multiple mischief charges. None of the charges have been proven in court.
