Man dies after truck rollover: RCMP

A 22-year-old man from the RM of Stanley died after his vehicle rolled over on Tuesday.

A 22-year-old is dead after an early morning crash near Winkler.

RCMP said the crash happened around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday morning on Highway 14, between roads 19 and 20 West.

An investigation determined a truck travelling eastbound on Highway 14 slid into the oncoming lane, veered back, struck multiple trees, and then rolled into the ditch on the south side of the road.

The 22-year-old driver from the RM of Stanley was found outside of the truck by Winkler’s fire department. There were no other occupants.

When RCMP officers arrived, the fire department informed them the driver was dead.

Pembina Valley RCMP, along with a RCMP Traffic Analyst, continue to investigate.
