Two people have died and a third was sent to hospital after a collision Tuesday morning on a Manitoba highway. Mounties in Lac du Bonnet, Man., were called at around 7:30 a.m. to the two-vehicle crash on Highway 11 south of Lac du Bonnet near Road 84 North. Police say they learned a pickup truck was travelling on the highway when a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction lost control in front of him. The pickup truck then collided with the vehicle, RCMP say. The driver of the pickup truck, a 71-year-old man from Beausejour, was not physically hurt. His passenger, a 69-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle, a 71- and 66-year-old man, both from Lac de Bonnet, have died. “This morning’s road conditions and heavy snowfall are believed to be a factor in the collision,” police said in a news release. Mounties and a forensic collision reconstructionist continue to investigate.
