VAL DI SOLE — Canadian downhill mountain biker Jackson Goldstone successfully defended his UCI elite men’s world championship on Saturday. The 22-year-old from Squamish, B.C., finished first in three minutes 28.785 seconds. New Zealand’s Lachlan Stevens-McNab was 0.695 seconds behind in second place.
