The Winnipeg Police Service is thanking the public for helping to identify a man who died at Health Sciences Centre last month. On Friday, police released a description and composite sketch of a man who was found unresponsive at the corner of Winnipeg’s Main Street and James Avenue on July 28. The man died at HSC the next day. Following his death, Winnipeg police, the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office and the Manitoba Integrated Missing Persons Coordination Centre tried to identify the man through several investigative avenues but couldn’t determine his identity. This prompted police to turn to the public for help, which proved successful as the man has now been identified and his family has been notified. Police said the man’s death is not believed to be the result of foul play, adding that they won’t be providing further information out of respect for the family’s privacy.
