Ottawa police say an officer shot a dog who attempted to attack them near Billings Bridge on Sunday. According to a post on social media from police, officers responded to an incident involving an aggressive dog near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Data Centre Road. In a statement to CTV News, police said an officer shot the dog after the animal “charged at the officer in attempt to attack him.” “The dog sustained minor injuries and received veterinary care,” police said. Police say there is no known threat to public safety at this time.
