One person has been arrested and charged, while another remains at-large following a double stabbing in Mississauga on Saturday night. The incident, which investigators initially described as an altercation with a “possible stabbing,” happened at a shopping plaza in the Cooksville neighbourhood near Dundas Street West and Parkerhill Road, just west of Hurontario Street. Peel Regional Police said at around 5 p.m. officers responded to a call for a disturbance in a parking lot. “Upon arrival, officers located two adult men suffering from stab wounds following a reported parking dispute,” they said in a news release. “Both victims were transported to hospital with serious injuries and are now in stable condition.” Police said officers at the scene searched the area and quickly located one of the suspects without incident. Ali Halimi, 30, of Mississauga, was arrested and charged with assault. The charge has not been tested in court. A second male suspect, whom police believe stabbed the victims and is in possession of the knife, remains outstanding. He is wanted for attempted murder. The suspect is described as Middle Eastern, and approximately 25 to 35 years old with a thin build, a medium complexion, thinning brown hair, and an unshaven appearance. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black Nike sweatpants, a black crossbody bag, and white and grey Air Jordan shoes with a black logo. Investigators say he should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is advised not to approach and instead call 911 immediately.
