Several Manitoba schools closed due to freezing temperatures

As parts of Manitoba contend with freezing temperatures and icy wind chills, some school divisions have cancelled classes and bus transportation for the day.

The following schools are closed and buses are cancelled for Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026:

Red River Valley School Division – All schools are closed.

Interlake School Division – Schools closed.

Fort La Bosse School Division – All schools closed.

Swan Valley School Division – Buses are not running but schools are open.

Division scolaire franco-manitobaine -- Aurèle-Lemoine, Saint-Lazare, Jours de Plaine and La voie du Nord are closed. Buses are cancelled for École Saint-Joachim, École Réal-Bérard, École Sainte-Agathe, École Pointe des Chênes, École Saint-Jean-Baptiste, École Lagimodière, École Gabrielle-Roy, École Notre-Dame de Lourdes and École Gilbert-Rosset.

Lakeshore School Division – All schools are closed.
