Colleen Bready’s forecast: Snow headed for parts of Manitoba

It’s a relatively quiet winter day across Manitoba and northwestern Ontario on Wednesday.

Afternoon highs across all regions are forecast to reach between -20 C and -17 C in reasonably light northwest winds in most areas.

Southern regions, including Winnipeg and Brandon, should see at least partial sunshine.

Meanwhile, up to 2 cm of light snow is expected in the northeast. There is a good chance snow will move into northwestern Ontario on Wednesday evening, though amounts will be limited.

Ahead on Wednesday night, northern regions will remain cloudy, while partly cloudy conditions are expected in the south.

Overnight lows across all regions will fall to the mid-20s to low -30s, with coldest temperatures mainly in the south.

Below normal daytime temperatures in the upper minus teens will continue on Thursday and Friday with sunshine in Winnipeg, before a well-timed warm-up this weekend.

After bitter cold last weekend, minus-single digits highs are on tap on Saturday and Sunday in the city.
