Colleen Bready’s forecast: A moderate Tuesday before a mid-week warm-up

Overall, it is an uneventful day on the weather-front on Tuesday.

Forecast daytime highs are above normal for southern Manitoba and northwestern Ontario, and closer to seasonal for most of northern Manitoba.

Light snow falling in central and northeastern Manitoba should end early on Tuesday afternoon, though it will linger long around Gillam and Island Lake, closer to a low in northern Ontario.

The same low will also bring light snow to northwestern Ontario on Tuesday.

Southern Manitoba will generally enjoy a mix of sun and cloud.

Ahead on Tuesday night, temperatures will drop to the mid-minus-teens across southern Manitoba with variably cloudy skies.

Northern regions will fall a few degrees further overnight and skies will remain cloudy.

Daytime highs and overnight lows will soar well above mid-February norms for the rest of the week in Winnipeg and the south, with plenty of sunshine.

Temperatures will come close to the freezing mark, if not slightly above it as Festival du Voyageur begins on Friday.

Hopefully, that shouldn’t cause snow sculptures to melt much, if at all. He ho!
