What’s open/closed in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent on Canada Day 2025

Wondering what’s open and closed on Tuesday for Canada Day? Here’s a full list, courtesy of the City of Windsor and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

OPEN:

Devonshire Mall is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tecumseh Mall is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Windsor Crossings is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The City of Windsor said all administrative offices for the city will be closed on Tuesday in observance of the Canada Day holiday.

311 Customer Contact Centre

The 311 Customer Contact Centre’s regular business hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday thru Friday; however, due to the holiday, the contact centre will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

311 self-serve options continue to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via 311 Online and the Windsor 311 mobile app.

211 Windsor-Essex

The 211 service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to serve residents throughout Windsor and Essex County.

Garbage and Recycling Collections

Residential garbage, yard waste and recycling collection services will be delayed by one day due to the holiday. Please refer to your 2025–2026 Collection Calendar or the Recycle Coach App, or visit our Collection Schedule page. Night commercial, front end loader and weekly non-eligible source (NES) recycling collections are not delayed.

Public Drop-Off and Household Chemical Waste Depots

The depots located at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and North Service Road East will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Parks and Recreation

Sandpoint Beach remains closed to swimmers indefinitely; however, the sand area and parkland remain open.

WFCU Centre, Community and Customer Care Centres and Arenas will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, including all Day Camp programs and the indoor pools and fitness centre at the WFCU Centre and Gino & Liz Marcus Community Complex, except for any already booked rentals or events.

Atkinson, Central, Lanspeary, Mic Mac, Remington Booster and Riverside Centennial outdoor pools will be open as scheduled for recreational swimming on July 1, 2025. Please visit ActiveWindsor.ca and click on the Swim Schedule for details.

At the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre (WIATC) Presented by WFCU Credit Union, the indoor pool (Natatorium) will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The fitness centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU Credit Union will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Park Splash Pads will be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Lakeview Park Marina office and fuel dock will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and launch ramps will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Homelessness and Housing Help Hub (H4)

Programming at 400 Wyandotte Street East (Windsor Water World) will be open regular hours, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to offer services for people experiencing homelessness. Call [phone] for more information.

Parking Enforcement

Municipal ticket payment offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Ticket payments may still be made online by visiting the E-Services tab at CityWindsor.ca.

Windsor Public Library

In celebration of Canada Day, all Windsor Public Library Branches will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Plan ahead and sign out any print publications you need in advance; of course, you can visit us for all your digital needs online, anytime, at WindsorPublicLibrary.com.

Museum Windsor

The Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House locations will be open on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Streetcar No. 351 at the Legacy Beacon is open on Canada Day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Transit Windsor

Transit Windsor buses are operating on the Sunday/holiday schedule on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, and the customer service office at 300 Chatham Street West will be closed. For a list of alternate sales outlets for Transit passes, please see our Transit Windsor: Where to Buy page.

Chatham-Kent

Municipal offices and most services will be closed on Canada Day. All services will run as normal on Monday.

Arenas

All arenas will be closed on July 1.

Arts and culture

The “Into The Forest” Children’s Art Camp will run from June 30 to July 4 (inclusive of the statutory holiday on July 1), with registered campers entering through the Studio Two doors located off the William Street parking lot at the Chatham Cultural Centre. Please note that all other municipal Arts and Culture venues will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, including:

• Chatham-Kent Museum
• Kiwanis Theatre
• CKTickets Box Office (Chatham Cultural Centre)
• Thames Art Gallery
• ARTspace
• Milner Heritage House
• Ridge House Museum

Cemetery Operations

Cemeteries staff will be available on call for funeral homes that need at-need lot sales or interment orders.

Chatham-Kent Public Library

Chatham-Kent Public Libraries will be closed on Canada Day.

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance

Healthcare services offered at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites have been altered for Canada day.

Some outpatient diagnostic tests will take place, for those who were scheduled ahead of time. The departments will also be staffed for inpatients and in case of emergencies.

The following services will be closed:

• Outpatient rehabilitation services
• Pre-surgical screening services
• Diabetes education centre
• TIA and CAD clinics
• Pulmonary function lab
• Outpatient lab services
• Health records
• Patient appointment offices
• Elston Pharmacy at the Chatham site
• Oncology/Chemotherapy department
• Business office
• Cashier’s office
• Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions program outpatient department
• Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic

In the event of an immediate crisis, you are asked to contact the crisis line at 1-866-299-7447 or visit your closest emergency department.

Hemodialysis care will be open on Canada Day and the emergency departments at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will remain open 24/7.

Due to the Public Health lab schedule, well water samples will pause as of Friday, beginning again on Wednesday.

EarlyON

All EarlyON programs are closed on Tuesday.

Emergency services

All emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) will operate 24/7 by dialling 911 for emergencies only.

The Fire Administration office will be closed on July 1, re-opening on July 2 at 8:30 a.m.

Employment and Social Services

Employment and Social Services will be closed Tuesday, July 1. The Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628 for homeless emergencies within Chatham-Kent is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Entegrus

Entegrus will be closed will be closed Tuesday, July 1. The emergency call number is 519-352-6300.

Fleet Services

Fleet Services will be closed on Tuesday, July 1.

Housing Services

Housing Services will be closed on Tuesday, July 1. For homeless emergencies please contact the Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628.

Leaf and Yard Depots

All Leaf and Yard Depots will be closed Tuesday, July 1.

Pools

All the pools will be open for a Free Swim from 1:30 – 4:00 except for the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool, which will be closed for the day for scheduled maintenance. All other programming is closed. Please visit www.Chatham-Kent.ca/recreation for more information.

Provincial Offences Court

The Provincial Offences Court will be closed Tuesday, July 1. Please note that during office closures fines can continue to be paid online at www.paytickets.ca.

Public Utilities Commission

The PUC will be closed on Tuesday, July 1.

Public Works

Public Works offices will be closed Tuesday, July 1. Road and Water/Wastewater services will be available for emergency service.

RIDE CK

All Ride CK Transit services will not operate Tuesday, July 1.

Riverview Gardens

Reception and administrative offices will be closed Tuesday, July 1. Nursing staff can be reached 24/7 by calling 519-352-4823.

Service Ontario

Both the Chatham and Dresden locations will be open on Monday, June 30, but will be closed on Tuesday, July 1.

Tourism

CK Tourism will be closed Tuesday, July 1. To access visitor information at any time, please go www.visitck.ca.

Waste Depots (Transfer Stations)

All Transfer Stations will be closed Tuesday, July 1.

Waste and Recycling
