Three offenders arrested for allegedly cutting off ankle monitors: WPS

The Windsor Police Service has arrested three more offenders for allegedly cutting off their ankle monitors.

This comes after another offender was arrested for allegedly cutting his ankle monitor off an hour after release.

In November, a 56-year-old man, who was facing various break-in related charges, was granted bail. In December, police said he took off his court-ordered ankle monitor and ‘went into hiding’.

An investigation led to the man’s location in Sarnia, where he was arrested on Jan. 1. He is facing additional charges of two counts of failure to comply with a release order and one count of mischief under $5,000.

In the second incident, a 33-year-old man was released on bail in December, facing vehicle theft-related charges. The ankle monitor was allegedly cut off towards the end of the month, leading to his arrest at a home on Elliott Street East on Jan. 4. He is facing two counts of failure to comply with a release order, in addition to prior charges.

In the final incident, a 21-year-old was released on bail mid-December, also on vehicle theft-related charges. He was arrested on Dec. 29, 2025, after allegedly cutting off his ankle monitor. He is facing two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
