A Manitoba highway was closed for a short time Friday afternoon after a plane landed on it. Manitoba RCMP said officers from the Powerview detachment were called around 12:30 p.m. for reports that a plane had landed on Highway 304. A spokesperson for the Transportation Safety Board (TSB) said the Piper aircraft was flying from the St. Andrews Airport to Red Sucker Lake on Friday when the plane “experienced an engine issue.” There were six people and the pilot on board. TSB said the plane landed safely and no one was injured. The plane was also not damaged during the landing. Pictures from the scene show the small plane sitting in the middle of the road with a backlog of traffic on either side. The road was closed for a couple of hours, but it has since been reopened. TSB said it is still gathering information about the incident.
