A social worker is facing charges in a fraud investigation. The Windsor Police Service said they have charged the suspect in fraudulent insurance billings for therapy sessions. The investigation was launched after police received a report that an insurance company had transferred money to a social worker for sessions that didn’t take place, according to police. Between April 30 and May 28 of this year, officers said the social worker billed a former client’s insurance provider for services that were never received. It totalled around $1,200. A 46-year-old man is facing charges for fraud under $5,000, obtaining funds under $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
