Four people, including two teenage girls, were arrested in British Columbia’s Interior region after a stolen vehicle rammed police vehicles in an attempt to flee, the RCMP says. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. Thursday, when the Quesnel RCMP located a white Ford F-350 that was reported stolen hours earlier in the community of Hixon, approximately 60 kilometres north. Officers approached the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the Quesnel Arts and Recreation Centre and tried to apprehend the suspects. However, the driver rammed into the police vehicles and tried to flee, according to a statement from the Quesnel RCMP. Four occupants of the truck were arrested, including a 31-year-old man who was driving. A 29-year-old woman and two 15-year-old girls were also arrested, the statement said. No injuries were reported but the RCMP says three police vehicles and the stolen truck were damaged in the incident. Sgt. Clay Kronebusch said the three female passengers were released from police custody pending further investigation. “The driver is being held in custody and will appear before the courts later today,” Kronebusch said.
