Damage is estimated at more than $4 million after a massive overnight fire in LaSalle. Crews were called around 12:30 a.m. Sunday to Terra Bella Drive, off Huron Church Line Road, where flames and heavy smoke were pouring from a newly built home. About 25 firefighters remained on scene until late Sunday morning. LaSalle Fire Chief Ed Thiessen told AM800 News the new home was worth $1.8-million. He says the house could not be saved and has been completely destroyed. Thiessen says the fire also spread to a neighbouring house, causing about $2 million in damage. That home was occupied, but all residents made it out safely. Another nearby house, still vacant, sustained about $100,000 in heat damage. LaSalle Police are investigating and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in. Authorities are asking anyone with surveillance video from the area to contact police.
