Lakeshore has officially opened the new Atlas Tube Recreation Centre (ATRC) Dog Park at the recreation centre. It officially opened on Wednesday, welcoming dogs, owners, and community members. “This new dog park is an awesome addition to the incredible grounds of the ATRC and offers a dedicated outdoor place where dogs can stretch their legs, enjoy some off-leash fun, and make new friends,” said Mayor Tracey Bailey. “But it is not just dogs making friends. Like our many other incredible parks, this will be the place to make connections and build community, and we could not be more excited.” The dog park is one-acre and is in the northeast corner of the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre property. It has eight new parking spots, two accessible parking spots, a dedicated small dog area, a dog bowl and water bottle filling station, new landscaping and trees, as well as complimentary dog waste bags. “We continue to ask our visitors to respect and protect public parks like this one,” Bailey added. “Help us keep it clean and safe by picking up after your pets, follow the rules, reporting issues, and treating this space like it is your own backyard.”
