Ontario Provincial Police say a driver went through a R.I.D.E. check with more than 400 pounds of illicit cannabis. Officers were stopping vehicles on Big Creek Road near Pauline Johnson Road, east of Brantford, around noon on Wednesday. “While speaking with the driver regarding possible alcohol consumption, the attending officer observed a large quantity of what appeared to be cannabis, in plain view inside the vehicle,” a media release said. In total, the seized drugs came in at more than 400 lbs. The driver, a 28-year-old from Iroquois, Ont., was charged with possession of illicit cannabis and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling.
