There was a conservative shift in the region after the 2025 federal election. Conservatives won in Windsor West, Essex and Chatham-Kent Leamington ridings, as well as Windsor-Tecusmeh-Lakeshore. Windsor West Conservative Harbinder Gill has upset Brian Masse in Windsor West. Masse was seeking his ninth-straight victory for the New Democratic Party, but he lost to the Conservative candidate and the Liberal candidate Richard Pollock. This is Gill’s first run at politics, having recently retired as a police officer from the LaSalle Police Service. Essex CTV News declares Conservative Chris Lewis re-elected in Essex. The riding of Essex — which includes Amherstburg, Essex, Kingsville, LaSalle and parts of Lakeshore — has a history of swinging between parties, but that is not the case in 2025. Lewis, the incumbent MP, is a former firefighter and small business owner from Kingsville, and was seeking re-election after flipping the riding from NDP control in 2019. Chatham-Kent—Leamington Voters in Chatham-Kent—Leamington have returned Conservative Dave Epp to office for a third straight term. CTV News has declared Epp as the winner in Chatham-Kent—Leamington. Epp topped Liberal challenger Keith Pickard to keep the seat blue. Epp has served as MP in the riding since he was first elected in 2019, winning the seat previously held by Dave van Kesteren – also a Conservative. Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore In a stunning turn of events, Kathy Borrelli has beat the odds, winning the Windsor—Tecumseh—Lakeshore riding. Borrelli defeated two-term Liberal MP Irek Kusmierczyk, who was first elected in the 2019 federal election. More results are available on the Elections Canada website.
