Driver turns herself in after crashing into bus shelter: WPS

Windsor police say a 22-year-old woman has turned herself in after driving into a bus shelter earlier this month.

On Friday, March 20, police say the driver involved in the collision turned themselves in at Windsor Police headquarters.

The woman has been charged with careless driving.

Around 6:13 p.m. on March 1, police say a white sedan struck a bus shelter on the northwest corner of University Avenue west and Bruce Avenue, completely shattering the glass.

Police say after the crash, a male passenger and a female driver both got out of the vehicle and switched seats.

The vehicle then fled the scene northbound on Janette Avenue without the driver or passenger reporting the incident.
