Windsor fire crews were called to the 800 block of Giles Boulevard East around 7:30 a.m. Friday after a fire broke out inside a two-and-a-half-storey home. When firefighters arrived, they could see smoke billowing out the back of the house. Crews launched an offensive fire attack and were able to quickly bring the blaze under control. The fire was declared out about 30 minutes later. Fire officials say the fire started in the kitchen and is considered accidental, causing an estimated $150,000 in damages. Three people were transported to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. They have since been released.
