A tow company in Ladysmith, B.C., had to call in a crane over the weekend to extract a vehicle that went off a cliff and landed upside down on a cabin’s deck roughly 20 metres below. According to neighbours and the company, Central Island Towing, the driver miraculously walked away from the crash. The incident happened just before 5 p.m. on Feb. 14 along Brenton Page Road, but the extraction didn’t happen until the following day. Central Island Towing says they brought in the crane to prevent further damage. “Traditionally bringing it up with a heavy-duty wrecker would have done a fair bit of property damage,” says Mark Kusnir, owner of Central Island Towing. The owner of the cabin tells CTV News that the entire deck will most likely need to be replaced.
