It’s looking like Monday should be the warmest day of the week in the Edmonton area, especially when you factor in the wind Tuesday/Wednesday. We’ll see a “mix of sun and cloud” with temperatures climbing into the upper teens Monday afternoon ahead of a low-pressure system moving into northern Alberta. That system will bring some showers to the north tonight and early Tuesday. Further south, there’s a chance of some scattered showers around the Edmonton and Red Deer regions overnight and/or early Tuesday morning. But...no significant rainfall is expected. The bigger story will be wind: Gusts in the 40-50 km/h range are expected for Tuesday and 30-40 km/h gusts are on tap for Wednesday. We’ll also see a bit of a cool down as daytime highs settle in around 14/15 C, which is pretty close the seasonal average for late September. The long-range outlook is indicating a warm spell for next week as daytime highs are projected to be in the upper teens and could hit 20 C once or twice. So, although there are several more mornings with a frost risk (especially late this week), it doesn’t look like we’re completely done with warm weather just yet.
