Victim airlifted after stabbing in Quesnel, B.C., RCMP say

A 40-year-old man was transported by air ambulance after a stabbing at a gas station in central B.C. Thursday night.

The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. at the Petro Canada station on McLean Street in Quesnel, according to a statement from the local RCMP detachment.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, then airlifted to a different facility for further care, police said.

Police arrested a 34-year-old man at the scene. He is being held in custody pending a court appearance, police said.

They did not name the suspect, and online court records suggest he had not yet been charged as of Friday morning.

“If anyone was in the area around that time and witnessed anything or has dash cam video, please contact the Quesnel RCMP,” said Sgt. Clay Kronebusch, in the statement.
