After more than two decades on Vancouver’s airwaves, one of the city’s most recognizable radio voices is stepping away. Nat Hunter, co-host of the popular Nat and Drew Show on MOVE 103.5, announced Monday she will be leaving the program. “It’s hard. I love this show so much.” Hunter said to CTV News. Hunter has spent more than 20 years waking up Vancouver alongside Drew Savage and Erin Davis. It’s one of the city’s most established morning programs During Monday’s show, Hunter addressed listeners directly, delivering the news in her trademark candid style. “Just ripping off the Band-Aid. No stalling. No preamble. Is this a bit of a preamble? It’s a bit of a preamble. OK, the announcement is, after 22 plus years, I, Nat Hunter, am, leaving the show.” she said. The announcement marked an emotional moment on air, reflecting both the longevity of the show and the close relationships built behind the microphone. “Always big when you share that kind of news, so I’m not surprised emotions were running high,” said Savage. Hunter echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the bond she shares with her colleagues. “It’s a family here. I get how cliché that sounds, but they are my best friends. I love this job, best job in the world,” she said. The partnership between Hunter and Savage dates back more than two decades. “We met actually in Toronto. We were both new in the business, met at an industry function, he didn’t like me.” Hunter recalled, laughing. “That is true!” Savage replied. “He learned to like me. Dare I say, learned to love me,” Hunter added. What may have began as a rocky first impression eventually developed into a lasting on-air chemistry, helping build one of Vancouver’s top morning radio shows. “My worst days here were still some of my best days. I’m proud of the show,” Hunter said. Hunter also told listeners she plans to move back to Ontario to be closer to family and has accepted a new job. However, she declined to share details about what comes next. Despite her departure, the show itself will continue. “Drew’s staying, I’m still going to be here and so we’re still going to have lots of fun. It will be good,” said co-host Davis. Hunter’s final show is scheduled for Friday, June 5, marking the end of an era for Vancouver morning radio. Move 103.5 is owned by Bell Media, which is the parent company of CTV News.
