Part of the Stanley Park seawall will be closing Monday so crews can do annual maintenance and install new barriers along the route. The section between Third beach and Prospect Point will be blocked off until Friday Nov. 28, according to the Vancouver Park Board. “This stretch is particularly exposed to wind, rain, and snow, making it more vulnerable to shifting rock and seasonal weather damage,” a statement from the board said. “Each year, our crews stabilize the rock face to minimize hazards and help prevent future closures.” This year the closure will also allow for new concrete barriers to be installed to make the stretch safer, the board said.
