Man charged after allegedly sexually assaulting woman on Burlington-bound GO train

A man is facing charges after a woman was sexually assaulted on a GO train earlier this month.

The incident happened on Nov. 14, at around 8:45 p.m. Halton Regional Police say a woman sitting aboard a GO train heading westbound, approaching Appleby GO Station, when she was approached by a man who was behaving “erratically.”

Police say the man struck up a conversation with her, when he allegedly grabbed her and tried to kiss her.

She quickly pushed the man away, police said, and he moved away to another area of the passenger car.

Authorities say the woman did not sustain any physical injuries.

Halton police’s child abuse and sexual assault units launched an investigation into the incident, and on Wednesday, the identified the accused as 41-year-old Bruce Pawlowsky. They arrested him in Whitby and charged him with one count of sexual assault, and four counts of breach of probation.

The charges have not been tested in court.
