A man remains in serious condition following an early morning house fire in Ajax earlier this month. The fire happened at around 6:10 a.m. on Dec. 11, at a home located on Angier Crescent. Durham Regional Police say they saw smoke coming from inside of a home when they arrived on scene. Police say an adult male was taken to a local hospital, where he remains with serious injuries. Ajax Fire extinguished the flames and the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) is conducting an investigation into the incident. Officers deemed the home “unsafe” as a result of the fire, preventing authorities from completing a thorough investigation of the premise until it is clear for them to do so. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
