Woman critically injured in two-vehicle crash in Scarborough

Toronto police say a woman was critically injured after two vehicles collided at Kingston Road and Brimley Road early Sunday.

In a news release issued just before 11 a.m. officials say officers responded at around 1:06 a.m. and found that a black Audi SUV, driven by a 69-year-old man heading south on Brimley Road, and a white Kia sedan, also driven by a 69-year-old man travelling east on Kingston Road, had collided in the intersection.

Police say one of the vehicles went through a red light before the crash.

A 68-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Kia was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Members of Traffic Services continue to investigate and are asking anyone with dash cam or security footage from the area to contact police.
