Two injured in shootings in Leslieville, Etobicoke strip club

Two men were injured in separate shootings in Toronto overnight.

The first occurred in the Leslieville neighbourhood at approximately 11 p.m. on Monday. Police said a 48-year-old man walked into a downtown hospital suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

He told police he was injured in the area of Dundas Street and Coxwell Avenue.

Police said 24-year-old Tajuddin Shahabuddin has been charged in connection with the shooting. The Toronto resident is charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and unauthorized possession of a firearm. Shahabuddin is also charged with use of a firearm in commission of an indictable offence, careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a prohibited firearm and weapons dangerous.

Hours later, police were called to the city's west end for reports of a shooting outside a strip club.

Investigators told reporters that a fist fight had broken out in the parking lot of the House of Lancaster in the area of the Queensway and Royal York Boulevard shortly before 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

Officers said it appeared that shots were fired from a vehicle as it left the parking lot. A man was shot in the torso, and received non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have yet to release any information on a suspect or suspects.

The shooting came ten months after another incident at the same club. A man in his 20s was shot in the House of Lancaster parking lot on Dec. 30, 2014. Shots were also fired in the area in August 2014.
