Teen used alias to solicit child porn: police

BRADFORD, Ont. - A Bradford teenager has been charged in an international child pornography investigation.

The 18 year old male was arrested yesterday after a search warrant was issued at a Bradford West Gwillimbury home.

He's charged with possession of child pornography, luring, extortion and possession of marijuana.

Officers from South Simcoe Police and the York Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit say the case involves victims from across North America and overseas ranging in age from 13 to 17.

Police allege the suspect used the Internet to solicit and extort child pornography images under the alias "Frida Barbosa," among other names.

The accused is being held for a bail hearing in Barrie Court on Wednesday.

Investigators are seeking the public's help in identifying anyone who may have been in contact with "Frida Barbosa" through either the Internet or social media.

Anyone with information is asked to contact South Simcoe Police or Crime Stoppers.
