Gas prices pass $2/L once again at many Montreal stations

Gas prices at many stations in the Greater Montreal area have passed the $2-per litre mark once again.

Early Friday morning, several gas stations were displaying elevated prices, including:

• Petro-Canada on Parc Avenue (202.9 cents) in Montreal,
• Ultramar on Jacques-Cartier Boulevard in Longueuil (202.9 cents), and the
• Canadian Tire on Le Corbusier Boulevard in Laval (203.9 cents).

Some were as high as 205.0 cent, including the Shell on Soucy Street in Longueuil.

Though most stations across the island and into the suburbs have breached the $2 mark, some are still hovering around the 190-cent mark, including:

• Shell on de la Côte-des-Neiges Road (191.9 cents) in Montreal,
• Esso Couche-Tard on Pierrefonds Boulevard (199.9 cents) in Pierrefonds-Roxboro, and
• Ultramar on Viau Boulevard (194.9 cents) in Montreal.

Experts have noted that the swell in gas prices is largely due to the ongoing war in Iran.
