Police are sharing new photos of the suspects wanted in connection with a distraction theft in Scarborough that targeted an elderly victim in April. It happened at a bank in the area of Eglinton Avenue East and Pharmacy Avenue on the afternoon of April 15, at around 2:20 p.m. Toronto police said a man and a woman followed an elderly victim into the bank, saw the senior withdraw money, and then followed him out of the establishment. The pair were captured on surveillance footage following the victim out of the bank. Police released video of the incident in May. In the footage, a male suspect is seen squirting ketchup on the victim’s back before walking away. Toronto police said a woman approached the victim and offered to help clean the back of his jacket, but as the senior was being helped, the pair allegedly stole his money. The suspects fled the scene. Investigators obtained new photos of the suspects and released them to the public on Sunday. Police describe the man as having a heavy build and a short beard. They said he was last seen wearing glasses, a black jacket, black pants and light-coloured shoes. Officials describe the woman as having a slim build and dark hair tied up in a ponytail. Police say she was wearing a light-coloured coat, a scarf and white shoes, and was carrying a dark knapsack.
