The Saskatoon Fire Department has suspended rescue operations for a person and dog reported in the South Saskatchewan River near Spadina Crescent and Ravine Drive. The incident was first reported Friday, July 31 around 3:40 p.m. Crews searched the water and riverbank over the weekend, using dive operations and sonar scans to find the person and dog. On Tuesday the fire department said neither were found and the search has been suspended, pending any new information. The fire department says the scene has been turned over to the Saskatoon Police Service for further investigation. During the weekend Saskatoon fire launched two boats to aid in the search, and also received help from Saskatoon and Corman Park police through their respective drone teams.
