Pair of speeders caught travelling over 150km/h near Saskatoon rack up $2K in fines

Corman Park Police say two vehicles have been seized after officers caught drivers travelling more than 50 km/h over the speed limit on wet highways.

Police say the first vehicle was clocked at 169 km/h in a 90km/h zone.

The driver, who holds a Class 5 Novice 2 licence, had their vehicle impounded for 30 days and their licence suspended for seven days.

They were also issued a $1,123 speeding ticket, according to the police service.

In the second incident, officers stopped a Class 7 learner driving 155 km/h in a 90km/h zone.

Police say the vehicle was impounded for 30 days, the driver received a seven‑day licence suspension and was fined $966.

According to police, four youth passengers were inside the second vehicle and were recording the speeding as it happened.

Police say the driver was passing another vehicle on a wet highway where conditions “were not the greatest.”
