Weyburn man arrested after snowmobile and trailer stolen

A Weyburn man is facing charges following an investigation into a case of rural theft.

On Nov. 8, Weyburn RCMP received a report of a theft form a rural property near Weyburn. Police determined a flat deck trailer and snowmobile were stolen.

The theft occurred sometime between the evening of Nov. 7 and the early hours of Nov. 8.

On Nov. 11, Weyburn RCMP executed a search at a residential property in Weyburn, where police discovered the snowmobile at the residence. The snowmobile had been damaged. Later that same day an adult man was arrested by police in the city.

The flat deck trailer was later recovered Nov. 12.

As a result of the investigation a 32-year-old Weyburn man was charged with one count of possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000.

He’s set to make his first appearance in Weyburn Provincial Court on Dec. 23.

Police continue to investigate.
