Regina Bypass creates buzz with partnership between YMCA and local beekeeper

The Regina Bypass partnered with a local beekeeper and YMCA daycare children to produce and label a new community honey brand.

The Regina Bypass and YMCA are creating a buzz, thanks to their partnership with a local beekeeper.

As part of the initiative announced on Thursday, the Regina Bypass is introducing honeybees along the corridor to support vegetation growth. The organization has been able to harvest the honey from the bees and share it with the community.

“This project is a great example of how small environmental efforts can create big community impact,” Christophe Martin, general manager of the Regina Bypass said in a news release.

As well, children from the YMCA daycare designed the label for the honey jars.

“The children from our childcare centre were “buzzing,” giving their talents, energy and creativity to the honey label artwork and were genuinely excited to participate and learn more about the important role bees play in our environment,” YMCA CEO Steve Compton said in the announcement.
