RCMP investigate water supply incident in Outlook area

Water Advisory Alert is being issued by the town of Outlook and the RM of Rudy #284.

Residents in the town of Outlook and the Rural Municipality of Rudy No. 284 are without a municipal water supply.

In an advisory sent Monday evening by the Saskatchewan Provincial Emergency Communications Centre, the water supply was described as being “compromised.”

RCMP are investigating the incident.

As a precaution, the municipal water system has been shut down while crews work to remove affected water and sanitize the distribution system in accordance with Water Security Agency protocols for safe drinking water.

Officials say the water should not be used until further notice, even after service is restored. There is currently no estimate for when the water distribution system will be back in operation.
