RCMP arrest two after reported forcible confinement in SUV near Fort Qu’Appelle

RCMP say a report of possible forcible confinement in a blue SUV led to a police response across Grenfell and Fort Qu’Appelle.

Saskatchewan RCMP responded to a report of a person who was possibly forcibly confined in a vehicle around Fort Qu’Appelle.

According to an RCMP news release, several squad cars were deployed to the Fort Qu’Appelle area shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

RCMP say the matter has been concluded and everyone involved is safe.

The release stated RCMP’s Broadview detachment received a report about a person who was potentially “forcibly confined” in a blue SUV that left a business in the Grenfell area.

The vehicle was later seen driving at a high rate of speed in the Indian Head and Fort Qu’Appelle areas.

“RCMP followed it. The SUV stopped north of Fort Qu’Appelle and the two occupants - one adult male and one adult female - were arrested by RCMP without further incident. No injuries were reported,” RCMP said.

As of Wednesday, Mounties said they don’t believe this event to have been random and will reveal more information as the investigation unfolds.
